Eligibility Criteria for Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy:

1. The applicant must be a legal and permanent resident of Assam state.

2. The bank from which the education loan is taken should be recognized by the Reserve

Bank of India.

3. The education loan should have been availed from one of Assam State’s Scheduled Commercial Banks or Regional Rural Banks.

4. The loan amount should be a minimum of ₹100,000.

5. The education loan must have been approved by March 31, 2019.

6. After the first 25% of the sanctioned loan amount disbursed since April 1, 2019, the applicant becomes eligible for the subsidy.

7. The loan account must not have a non-performing asset (NPA) status.

8. There are no income-based eligibility criteria for this scheme.

9. Applicants who have already received benefits under the Bidya Lakshmi Scheme are not eligible to apply for this scheme.

Beneficiaries Who are Not Eligible:

1. Applicants whose loan installment payments are overdue for a specified period of time will not be eligible to apply for the Abhinandan Educational Loan Subsidy Scheme.

2. If an individual is already a beneficiary of the Vidya Lakshmi Yojana 2017 scheme, they will not be eligible to apply for the Educational Loan Subsidy Scheme.

3. All student loans that have been classified as non-performing assets after a designated period of 90 days will make the applicants ineligible for the subsidy.

4. Government employees who have availed educational loans ranging from 5 to 10 lakhs through the Bidya Lakshmi program will not be eligible to apply for this subsidy scheme.
